Christians Convert to Islam in Hong Kong

This is really interesting to see Christians in Hong Kong converting to Islam through street dawah. I'd imagine it will inspire street preachers around the world. It's also worth noting that the Christian people in Hong Kong, based on the evidence of this video, seem to have a poor understanding of Trinitarian theology.

The touching confirmations of faith by the new Muslims is humbling. I hope more initiatives such as these are set up across different parts of Asia including China and the Philippines.

Christians meet Jesús Navas González and/or Suso (Jesús Joaquín Fernández Sáez de la Torre)

I'd like to tell Christians that many Muslims are in fact called Esa and many folk of Spanish decent actually name their male children 'Jesus'. I follow a fair bit of football (soccer) and I know of at least two players who are on the books of English clubs who are named 'Jesus', Jesús Navas González (Man City) and Jesús Joaquín Fernández Sáez de la Torre (Suso of Liverpool).

Seen as many Christians on the net are from America I'd advise them to ask the Mexican community in America, they have no problem in naming their child 'Jesus'.

Having said that we must remind folk that Christians in north America and northern Europe may well find it a little surprising as it is not the norm in their respective cultures.

Muslims Condemn Russian Bus Bombing Terrorist Act

Tragically there's been another suicide bombing in Russia and our thoughts turn to the families of those affected. As Muslims we condemn this criminal act. We must also remind folk that terrorism and suicide bombing of innocent people is not allowed in Islam.

Prominent Muslim scholars, organizations and movements, representing the vast majority of Muslims worldwide, have repeatedly condemned terrorism, and have spoken out for peace and justice:

BBC news report:

At least 14 people have been killed in a suicide bombing on a trolleybus in the Russian city of Volgograd, investigators say. The blast comes a day after 17 people died in another suicide attack at the central station in the city. Security has been tightened at railway stations and airports across Russia.

Moscow is concerned that militants could be ramping up violence in the run-up to the 2014 winter Olympic Games in the city of Sochi in February.

Associating the Colour Black with Sin, Racist? No.

Here is Hamza Yusuf Hanson explaining the association of the colour black with sin:

The Prophet stated "If the son of Adam sins, a black spot appears in the heart. And if the person repents, it is erased. But if he does not it continues to grow until the whole heart becomes pitch black".

(Incidentally this notion of associating the color black with sin is not racist in its origins. The attribution has been long used, even among black Africans who refer to a person who is wretched as "black-hearted". The Qur'an says about successful people on the Day of Judgement that their "faces become white" (3:106). This does not mean "white" as a hue of skin; rather it refers to light and brightness, which are spiritual descriptions not associated with actual color. A black person can have spiritual light in his face, and a white person can have darkness, and vice versa, depending on one's spiritual and moral condition). [p8. Purification of the Heart by Hamza Yusuf, Sandala, 2012]

Does the Qur’an Contain Foreign Words? by Hamza Tzortzis

Linguistically the concept of foreign words in languages is described as ‘borrowing’ [1]. The idea of borrowing words is a universal observation that applies to all languages. English is a good example of this; take the word ‘Philosophy’. It comes from the Greek words ‘Philo’ which means love of and ‘Sophia’ which means wisdom. The concept of ‘foreign’ or ‘borrowed’ words comes from the fact that different races, cultures and peoples come in contact with one another [2].

What was specific about the Arabs at the time of revelation was that they came into contact with other cultures due to trade and had subsequently borrowed certain words. [3]These foreign words in the Qur’an had already been naturalised into the Arabic language before the revelation of the Qur’an [4]. These words were already in use in the Arabic language. [5] According to Imam Shafi’i [6] these words had been fully integrated into Arabic and were already a part of the language [7].

These foreign words include:
Mount (Qur’an 95:2) borrowed from Syriac
Heavy (Qur’an 18:31) from Persian
Sinai (Qur’an 95:2) from Nabatean
The Inscription (Qur’an 18:9) from Greek
The Sea (Qur’an 7:136) from Coptic
Brilliant (Qur’an 24:35) from Abyssinian
To turn onto someone (Qur’an 7:156) from Hebrew[8]

With reference to the Qur’anic statement that it is a “Plain Arabic Qur’an” [9] al-Suyuti believes that the presence of a few foreign words does not make it any less Arabic then the presence of foreign words in a Persian Poem would not make it any less Persian [10]. Additionally the reference to “Plain Arabic” is to the Qur’an as a whole, and not the individual words in it [11].

To conclude, claims made by some critics are debased by understanding the nature of languages and how they naturalise foreign words into their vocabulary. This phenomenon happens as a result of different cultures and races integrating and coming together. Furthermore the Qur’an can be described as ‘plain Arabic’ because the foreign words in the Qur’an had already been naturalised and were already part of the Arabic language before revelation.

2 Christmas Days? 7th January and 25th December

I’d imagine a ton of Christians in the West and non-Christians are absolutely oblivious to the fact that ‘Christmas’ is not only celebrated on 25th December but ALSO on January 7th.

The Orthodox Church use the Julian calendar where there is a difference of 13 days when compared to the Gregorian calendar which the West uses. This winds up leaving the Orthodox Church celebrating Christmas on January 7th.

The Eastern Christians observe Christmas in a different manner to the West. There's more emphasis on religious traditions and practices such as fasting and praying 40 days before Christmas.

Jewish Massacre of Christians in 7th Century Jerusalem?

In the early 7th century there was an alliance between the Jews and the Persians (not Muslims at this time) to take control of the holy city (Jerusalem). The Judeo-Persian forces were successful in defeating the Romans to take Jerusalem. There is confusion as to whether the Jews massacred thousands of Christians in Jerusalem. Peter Crawford is of the opinion that these stories of damage and killing have been exaggerated:

What happened in the aftermath is disputed; however, it is alleged the in response to anti-Semitic riots prior to the siege the Jews now vented their frustrations on the Christian population of Jerusalem and, with the consent of Shahrbaraz, contrived to commit a massacre. The account of Strategius in particular paints a picture of destruction and death on a vast scale with figures of up to 65,000 men, women and children killed along with buildings such as the Church of the Holy Sepulchre being burned. One particularly shocking tale claims that 25,000 captive Christians were butchered near Mamilla Pool, one of the city’s ancient reservoirs, after refusing to convert to Judaism. However, it was the Sassanids who were in full control of this situation and they had a long established tolerance of other religions; an ideal that Khusro himself ascribed to. Therefore, even with the importance of the Jews to his success and evidence that the Holy Sepulchre was damaged around this time, it would be strange if Shahrbaraz allowed such a massacre to take place. He may have been angered by the resistance of the city and its inhabitants but some controlled looting, the deportation of up to 35,000 people and the removal of the True Cross, Holy Lance and the Holy Sponge to Ctesiphon will have been seen as punishment enough and the Jews would not have carried out such a massacre themselves without the Persian commander’s agreement.

The archaeological record also seems to go against the suggestion of a brutal sack. While there was some evidence of a mass grave at Mamilla pool, there was no general layer of detritus and rubble that would suggest mass destruction and, aside from the Holy Sepulchre, there is little to suggest the wide-ranging destruction of Christian churches from the period. There is also little to suggest the great demographic change that would have come with the massacre of vast numbers of Jerusalem’s Christian population…Therefore, while there are certainly shreds of truth, such as the destruction of the Holy Speulchre, the removal of the True Cross and deaths at Mamilla, they do not seem to be in the order of magnitude suggested by the likes of Strategius. Instead, many of the Christian accounts of ‘the Persian capture of Jerusalem in 614, of the circumstances which led to it, and of the consequences for the city and its inhabitants…[were] carefully concocted with a view to shocking Christian readers, with much exaggeration of physical damage, inflation of casualty figures, and graphic illustrations of the sufferings of the deportees.’

This seems more likely with the suggestion of an underlying current of anti-Semitism permeating most of Roman Christian sources of the mid-seventh century…

The Encyclopedia of Hadith Forgeries by Mullah Ali al Qari translated by Dr Gibril Fouad Haddad

The first comprehensive catalogue and study of hadith forgeries in English.
Beacon Books is proud to commence our publishing programme with the launch of The Encyclopedia of Hadith Forgeries by Mullah Ali al Qari translated by Dr Gibril Fouad Haddad. This 740 page hard back book has been over 10 years in the making and is the first comprehensive catalogue and study of hadith forgeries in the English language.
The Lifting of Secrets Concerning Forged Reports was written over four hundred years ago by a respected and prolific Meccan savant of Afghan origin. Mulla ‛Ali al-Qari (d. 1014/1605) was thoroughly familiar with the large body of critical literature on hadith forgery, which he refined and reordered alphabetically into 625 entries. Al-Qari’s last work, it is the only catalogue of forgeries with both a transmission-based and content-based critique, illustrating the author’s vast erudition as well as his lenient choices in hadith methodology and his classic Hanafi and Sufi views.
The translator has added his own study of the forgery and ‘famous hadith’ genres, the life and works of the author, extensive footnotes and exhaustive indices. A total of 3,000 reports are documented in this volume covering doctrinal and juridical forgeries, Shia forgeries, Sufi forgeries, racial forgeries, misogynistic forgeries, food forgeries, ‘Israelite’ forgeries, medical forgeries, sex forgeries, spurious books, spurious grave-spots and more. This is the first and long overdue authentic reference work on hadith forgeries in English.
Dr. Gibril Fouad Haddad holds scholarly licenses (ijāza) from 150 shaykhs and has authored dozens of books and hundreds of articles in Islamic hermeneutics, doctrine, hadith, biography and heresiology. Pastor Frank Schaefer and the Christian Fight Against Gay Marriage

Frank Schaefer and the rest did not turn up at the doors of the church overnight. Western Christians really need to have some introspection over Frank Schaefer and those of his ilk when it comes to gay marriage.

Muslims really should take note of the manner in which Christianity has been subdued in the West. It's looking increasingly likely that the Christians in the West will capitulate in their fight against gay marriage. There's a huge schism amongst them and the group that seems to have the momentum is the one advocating gay marriage.

It's easy to say 'I told you so' but come on, what were these Christians expecting after pretty much ignoring the Old Testament because it contained teachings that did not fit with Western liberalism and all the while turning a blind eye to sex (heterosexual) before marriage. I mean, when was the last time we heard Christians in the UK, US, mainland Europe or Australia on mass denouncing boyfriend-girlfriend relationships? When? Perhaps the question to ask is 'why'.

Why did Christians in the West turn a blind eye to sex before marriage? It's because they wanted to fit in with Western liberalism. Why is it any surprise that they are changing their attitudes to gay marriage...

The depth that is lost on a lot of religious people when it comes to gay marriage is that the push for gay marriage did not come overnight. Open homosexuality and acceptance of such arrives only when a society's sexual moral compass is ignored or even changed. 70 years ago, in the UK, sex before marriage was denounced and those with children outside of wedlock were stigmatised. Fast forward to 2013 and we see sex before marriage and children out of wedlock as the norm. ONLY when this is the norm does a society push forward the gay agenda.

Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia are mocked by the liberal Western media for their conservative approach against sex before marriage but I bet conscious Christians in the West actually commend and even admire Saudi Arabia whilst lamenting their Western society's inability to stay true to Biblical teachings on sex. Muslim countries must learn from the Christian West's failings; they as a society turned a blind eye to sex before marriage in their efforts to appease Western liberalism. Now look where they are!

Here's yet another sign of their capitulation to Western liberalism:

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A United Methodist pastor from central Pennsylvania who was defrocked after officiating his son's gay wedding was invited by a California Methodist bishop to serve in her region in yet another sign of a split in the nation's largest mainline Protestant denomination

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/12/22/frank-schaefer-california-_n_4489228.html#slide=417951

I just wonder what this conservative pastor who attacks Muslims for holding on to conservative dress has to say

Why Are Expatriates in Dubai Attracted to Islam?

Tolerance is the key to attracting people to Islam

Ahmed Shaaban (ahmedshaaban@khaleejtimes.com) / 23 December 2013

Tolerance and practical teachings that address the body, soul, heart and mind, are the key reasons behind the conversion of hundreds of residents here.

This was the general opinion of about 185 new converts to Islam at the Islamic Information Centre (IIC) of the Dubai government-run Dar Al Ber Society in November this year.

A senior official said the new Muslims are originally from countries like the Philippines, China, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Cameron, Kenya, Nigeria, the U.S., Germany, Britain, Ireland, Australia and Myanmar.

Rashid Aljunaibi, Director of the IIC, on Sunday told Khaleej Times that the centre spares no efforts to introduce Islam to non-Muslims communities in the best, easiest, most tolerant, and persuasive way possible.

“People are attracted to the merciful and rational teachings of Islam, which orders its followers to be honest, fair and kind to all people, irrespective of their religion, race, language and colour.”

Moreover, in association with the Dubai Courts, and the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai, a unified certificate is now issued to authenticate an individual’s conversion to Islam, he said.

The centre, located close to the Satwa Roundabout in Bur Dubai, saw the conversion of 490 expatriates in September and October this year. They are from Argentina, Brazil, Russia, India, Cameron, Uganda, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Spain, Malaysia, Kenya, Eretria, Belgium, and the Philippines.

“We have distributed up to 1,035 books, brochures, CDs, and cassettes about Islam translated in several languages: English, Tagalog, Indian, and Chinese in November, against 4,500 in October and 4,294 in September.” The centre also held 300 lectures for new Muslims. “We regularly keep in touch with new Muslims online, by phone, and via Facebook and Twitter.”

Recently, the centre collected a cash donation of Dh51,000 in support of poor new Muslims. “We have also received a donation of Dh21,000 for printing 3,000 copies of the New Muslim Guidebook, while a total of Dh40,000 was gifted to new Muslims at the Punitive and Reformatory Establishments in Dubai.”

Aljunaibi earlier told Khaleej Times that over 20,000 residents, from 200 nationalities, converted to Islam at the Islamic Information Centre since its inception in 1993.

“Official statistics show that the centre helped 1,907 residents convert to Islam in 2012 as compared to 1,350 in 2011, 1,500 in 2010, and 1,059 in 2009. Over 50,000 individuals and families, hailing from different countries, approached the centre on an annual basis to know about Islam.”

Christian Condemns a Supporter of James White, Samuel Green, David Wood and Sam Shamoun

The internet is awash with mean-spirited comments towards Muslims (many from fundamentalist Christians). Here we see a Christian (Minoria) rebuke a supporter of a number of Christian apologists (including James White and Samuel Green) who 'operates' under the handle 'Radical Moderate'.

Now I'm sure Samuel Green and James White would outwardly condemn this long-term supporter of theirs but one does wonder whether he has simply been radicalised against Muslims through anti-Muslim rhetoric and reporting from folk such as Sam Shamoun, David Wood etc.

Perhaps Christian apologists would like to encourage others within their comity to stop radicalising Christians against Muslims. James, if you have enough time to mention how Ergun Caner I damaging efforts to evangelise Christianity to Muslims then surely you have enough time to focus on the Christian apologists who are radicalising Christian internet.

This is not the first time James has been asked to condemn such folk nor is it the first time Samuel Green has been invited to do so.

What did Mahatma Ghandi say about Prophet Muhammad (p)?

This quote from Mahatma Ghandi (Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi) should give those who pursue an agenda to foment hatred against Islam some food for thought as Mahatma Ghandi spoke and thought highly of Prophet Muhammad (p)

"....I became more than ever convinced that it was not the sword that won a place for Islam in those days in the scheme of life. It was the rigid simplicity, the utter self-effacement of the prophet, the scrupulous regard for his pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his intrepidity, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and in his own mission. These, and not the sword carried everything before them and surmounted every trouble." [Young India (periodical), 1928, Volume X]

Ukranian Anti-Muslim Terrorist in the UK

May Allah guide this man.

A Ukrainian student with a hatred of "non-whites" has admitted murdering an 82-year-old man and plotting to cause explosions near mosques.

Pavlo Lapshyn, 25, a postgraduate student from Dnipropetrovsk, in Ukraine, appeared at the Old Bailey and pleaded guilty to murdering Mohammed Saleem as he walked home from a mosque in Birmingham in April.

He also admitted causing an explosion on July 12 near the Kanzal Iman mosque in Tipton, and engaging in conduct in preparation of terrorist acts between April 24 and July 18 this year.
This included planting bombs near mosques in Walsall and Wolverhampton, researching locations to plant bombs and buying chemicals on the internet to make explosives.

Christian questioned his faith and wants to go to a mosque after seeing Sahdid Lewis Debate David Wood on 'Is Islam a threat to the West'

Shadid Lewis of the MDI appears to be doing a great job in getting the message of Islam out there

I have not seen the debate but I will point to a Christian, who is a member of the church which hosted the debate between David Wood and Shadid Lewis, admitting Shadid Lewis made many good points and who now has an interest in going to a mosque and learning about Islam!

Folks, this is what can happen when you  combine a switched-on Muslim who is willing to engage Christians in dialogue with a Christian who is willing to listen and think with sincerity.

Christian Audience member admits good points of Shadid and now is interested in Islam
After Shadid Lewis' debate with David Wood another honest Christian audience member comes to him on his own accord and confirms he (Shadid) made many good points vs David Wood, plus he expresses his interest in Islam. All Praise be to Allah

Bart Ehrman Educates an Angry Fundamentalist Christian

An Assyrian Christian (Triple B) was playing the fool in a YouTube comment section. He was insulting Prophet Muhammad (p) due to him (p) being unable to read or write.

It was lost on the Assyrian Christian (Sam Shamoun aka Triple B) that in the process he was actually insulting the friends of Jesus (p). Bart Ehrman, a well known Bible scholar, informs us that lower class people in 1st century Palestine were likely to have been uneducated and illiterate.

The ignorant Assyrian Christian (Triple B) was challenged by the idea that Peter was illiterate too. Triple B began insulting and making his ignorance known. I wonder if Triple B thinks the scholar Bart Ehrman is a ‘mental misfit’ too?

Bart Ehrman uses Peter as an example and believes he was illiterate – in turn Ehrman believes Peter did not write 1st or 2nd Peter (he believes they were forgeries)

If the video does not play, please view the video here:

I hope Triple B repents for his insults and desists from such disrespectful and anti-Jesus behaviour in the future

Debate Review: Can we trust the Islamic View of Jesus? Shadid Lewis and C.L Edwards

Shadid Lewis keeps winning debates against Christians!

Muslim apologist and debater, Shadid Lewis of the Muslim Debate Initiative (US branch), seems to be making waves in Christian communities. He debated a Christian named C.L Edwards under the topic 'Can we trust the Islamic View of Jesus?'.

I have not watched this debate myself but I can point to an eye-witness report from a Christian audience member who commends Shadid for his 'great job' in the debate, his 'logical defence' of the Muslim position and for doing 'a better job than his opponent'.

Video: Christian admits to the success of Shadid Lewis in the debate with C.L Edwards

After his debate with CL.Edwards "Can we trust the Islamic View of Jesus" This honest Christian Audience member came to Shadid Lewis on his own and declared that he felt Shadid had the better arguments and made a good case for the debate topic. All praise is to Allah.

Debate Review: Can We Trust the New Testament? Bob Siegel and Shadid Lewis

The Muslim debater, Shadid Lewis, clearly won this debate.

Shadid Lewis argued against New Testament (NT) reliability by highlighting what appears to be be false ‘prophecies’ attributed to Jesus (p) in the NT, the anonymous authorship of New Testament books, the differences or ‘evolution’ between the Gospel accounts and the additions in the Gospels (such as John 7:53-8:11 and Mark 16:9-20).

Bob Siegel was off topic and presented nothing positive to support his belief that the NT is reliable. Nothing. He was simply preaching.

‘Scribes wrote something stupid’

A quick contexualisation of Bob’s comments concerning the scribes writing something stupid and then being corrected by later scribes. I think people may make more out of this statement than it actually is. I reckon Bob was simply referencing noticeable errors that scribes did make – which are discernible and thus easily corrected. Examples of these would include dittography and haplography. These terms describe errors that result in repeating text or omitting text. They frequently occur when a word, phrase, or line begins with a similar string of letters (homoeoarcton) or ends with a similar string of letters (homoeoteleuton), causing the eyes to skip forward or backward. One example of haplography resulting from homoeoteleuton can be found in Matt. 5:19-20 of the Codex Sinaiticus.* The first sentence of verse 19 ends with ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τῶν οὐρανῶν and the end of the verse also ends with ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τῶν οὐρανῶν. Thus, the scribe of the Codex Sinaiticus has accidentally omitted everything from the first occurrence to the end of the verse. The scribe of the Codex Bezae has gone even further by skipping from the end of the first sentence of verse 19 to the end of verse 20 which also ends with ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τῶν οὐρανῶν. Bob Siegel gets desperate

Having offered nothing positive to support his belief that the New Tesament is trustworthy he throws out the standard Christian missionary (mis)claim of the Quran supporting the NT’s reliability. It says more about Bob and his lack of arguments for NT reliability than anything else. Of course, this old Christian missionary claim has been refuted many times over. In fact Shadid has corrected Ravi Zacharias’ colleague Nabeel Qureshi on this misdirection before:

Bob Siegel and Shadid Lewis: Contrasting styles

Bob Siegel was off topic, unclear and seemed under pressure. Shadid Lewis was methodical, calm, on-topic and coherent. One can see who had the more comfortable ride in the debate just by contrasting the demeanours of both debaters.

Conclusion

Look, it’s established and recognised by scholars (both conservative and liberal) that there are anonymous books in the NT and there are examples of additions (tampering) in the Gospels. Would you trust a dictionary that was of anonymous authorship and has a history of tampering? No. Think about it…

The interesting story here is that scholarship is agreeing with the Muslim belief that Jesus (p) never claimed to be God but people changed the story after the event so as to convince people he was God. Interesting...

Can we trust Josephus?

Sadly, our Christian friends are discovering, due to the dishonesty of the Gospel writers/Bible scribes, they have been misled – that’s to say they are realising they have been conned. However, Christian forgery (deception) has been so rampant that it appears that zealous Trinitarian Christians even tampered with the work of the Jewish historian Josephus in order to work their Trinitarian Christian agendas.

Before discussing the possible deceptive Christian alterations of Josephus’ work let’s discuss another problematic account within the Gospels – Matthew 2:16:

When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. [NIV, Matthew 2:16]

Matthew 2:16 depicts Herod as murdering all the young male children in Bethlehem. You would expect this act to have been chronicled by Josephus.

Yet, significantly, the massacre of Bethlehem’s young boys which is mentioned in Matthew finds no place even in the bloody history of Herod that Josephus recorded! Certainly such an event had it really happened, would have been mentioned in a historical record that narrates, amongst other details of the history of Herod, his brutal actions. Again, the conclusion must be that the massacre that Matthew details has no place in history. It should be stressed here, however, that this is not a form of negative evidence, for Josephus did record a detailed history of Herod in which the alleged massacre does not figure at all. [1]

Josephus chose not to record it?

Our Christian apologist friends may claim Josephus deliberately chose not to record “the massacre” as Josephus disagreed with the theological conclusion of Herod. However, this style of argumentation is inconsistent as Josephus alleged accounts of Jesus are indeed supportive of Christian theology.

The account in the Jewish War calls Isa [Jesus] a “miracle-worker”, attributing to him various miraculous acts, and goes as far as suggesting that “man” might not be the right word to describe him (Josephus, JW:398-400)!

Josephus also wrote Isa [Jesus] was raised from the dead the third day after his crucifixion. All these claims are mentioned more briefly in another of Josephus’ books, Jewish Antiquities, in which the Jewish writer goes that step further and claims that Isa was al-Masih [Messiah] (Josephus, JA, XVII: 63-64)! [1]

What didn’t the Christians forge?

It appears early Trinitarian Christians were not only busying themselves in adding forgeries to the Bible but were also tampering with the work of Josephus:

Critics have thrown doubts on the authenticity of Josephus’ supposed accounts of Isa [Jesus] which sounded too Christian to have been written by the Jewish historian. Other scholars, on the other hand, accept the genuineness of those accounts arguing that they contain points that cannot be reconciled with Christian tradition and they do not reflect a writer with a Christian faith but rather depict him as a doubting onlooker (Williamson, 1974: 396-397).

However, critics have raised a number of strong points against the authenticity of the controversial passages. Concerning the account in the Jewish War, the main argument of critics is that the piece about Isa [Jesus] is found in the Slavonic version of Josephus’ book but not in the Greek version. The principle arguments against the genuineness of the account in the Jewish Antiqiuities are as follows:

(i) The Jewish Josephus could not have described Isa [Jesus] as al-Masih [Messiah]

(ii) While the bishop and historian Eusebius of Caesarea (d. ca. 340 CE) mentions the controversial passage, the Greek theologian Origen (ca. 185-254 CE) had expressly stated that Josephus did not believe Isa [Jesus] to be al-Masih; and finally

(iii) The suspicious passage breaks continuity of Josephus’ description of a series of riots (Feldman, 1965:49)

Most scholars do not accept the authenticity of the two accounts in Josephus about Isa [Jesus]. In all probability, these references to Isa [Jesus] are inauthentic and must have been forged by Christians, but this is not relevant to our present discussion. [1]

Tough question for our Christian friends…

Whether the passages about Isa in Josephus’ works are genuine or not they still raise the following significant question: Why would the writer of those two accounts fail to make any reference to the alleged killing of the young boys that was intended to kill boy Isa? The answer cannot be anything other than that writer had no knowledge of the alleged massacre.

What is the English word for Wudu (Wudhu)? Lumination - Sheikh Hamza Yusuf

Ablution is not the best English word for wudhu (wudu); lumination is the better word. Sheikh Hamza Yusuf explains in the video.

Ali Sina's Brazen Effrontery

Ali Sina, the owner of Faith Freedom International, is an intellectual bankrupt man, a charlatan by all means, and even more so a loathsome person (if you get to know him, even briefly). On September 8, 2013 I had a short discussion with Ali Sina on Twitter, challenging him on certain premises he was unable to defend. He casually remarked I was pulling red herrings out of my pocket -- which I'll give him for the benefit of doubt. However, what struck me about this man (or woman, possibly?), is he couldn't help but keep his pretentious, and at times brazen behavior in check. The following tweets certainly demonstrate that Ali Sina willfully gives into ostentation whenever he is challenged:

"I am the expert. Invite any pretender to this title to debate with me. I will give each of you $50 k if he wins."
"I understand Islam better than ALL the Muslims and offer to pay $50 k to anyone who can show I am mistaken on Mo."
"It must be embarrassing for you. I have spent 19 years studying Islam and can defeat any Muslims scholar."

What we find here is that Ali Sina happens to be an extremely brazen individual. With little to no shame or honor, he claims "I am the expert" -- one would have to admit the man must have gotten a bit carried away. However, Ali Sina then says that "I understand Islam better than ALL Muslims...", probably another shameless gaffe on Ali Sina's part? Of course not. Finally, Ali Sina proudly states he's studied Islam for "19 years". The only problem with this assertion is that Muslims study their faith to the time of their death, give or take 60+ years?

Ali Sina, come out of your closet and have debates with real men; with people who've dedicated their entire lives to the faith. We suggest debaters such as Adnan Rashid and/or Shabir Ally. If you truly are the "expert" you claim to be, let's see you in action rather than pretending and building a digital facade for your fans to indulge over.
