Update, you can find the latest message and comments regarding Asif Quraishi here:
Modified description from C4: From one woman who feels she does not fit in anywhere, to another attacked by her own family for her sexuality, Cordelia Lynch hears about the experiences of lesbian Muslim women in the UK.
Why is the media so eager to push the gay agenda? It gets pushed in sport, the Christian communities and now it's getting pushed onto Muslim communities. I understand Channel 4 is very much a channel which does have a tradition of focussing on what is deemed as a taboo subject but 'gay Muslim women'? Really?
How many do they suppose exist? Surely there's more important issues to be zoning in on? I wonder how many hours of programming Channel 4 invest on global poverty in comparison to LGBT issues?
Asif Qureshi (Quraishi) claims it's 2014 and 'everybody knows sexual orientation is not a choice'. This is just another piece of mass propaganda coming out of the LGBT camp. Where is the intellectual honesty? I wonder if Asif Quraishi and Channel 4 are aware of this study which concludes homosexuality is not genetic:
Eight major studies of identical twins in Australia, the U.S., and Scandinavia during the last two decades all arrive at the same conclusion: gays were not born that way.
“At best genetics is a minor factor,” says Dr. Neil Whitehead, PhD. Whitehead worked for the New Zealand government as a scientific researcher for 24 years, then spent four years working for the United Nations and International Atomic Energy Agency. Most recently, he serves as a consultant to Japanese universities about the effects of radiation exposure. His PhD is in biochemistry and statistics.
Asif Qureshi (Quraishi) keeps mentioning it's 2014. So what? What does that mean? It's a nonsensical argument when discussing religion as old as Islam because the Islamic sources need to be consulted which are relevant today just as they were relevant 1000 years ago. A religion is not going to change its teachings on homosexual acts just because it's 2014. Nobody gets a licence to act in opposition to their religion just because it's 2014. It's intellectually dishonest to operate or even argue in that manner.
What is Asif Qureshi really after? He mentioned that he wants his visibility to increase. Is this some sort of career for this chap who is being styled as the only Muslim drag queen. Is he looking to become a bit of a celebrity? Cash in? Really, what's this bloke's motive? Perhaps he would like to email me and enter a dialogue in explaining his motives ideas.
My heart-felt appeal to any Muslim with same sex attraction
If you are Muslim and having gay tendencies please see this link as it may well offer something that you can benefit from. The important thing for you is to continue with Islam - believe in it with your whole heart. Do not pronounce something which is a sin to be allowed in Islam. Do not try to take on the insincere agenda of the media. Do the media really care about you? I don't believe so. We as Muslims do care.
I can honestly say I do care about any Muslim who is struggling with their sexual attraction.
Look into Islam - orthodox Islam - don't run off to some dodgy bloke on the net who is saying something which is way off base from the mainstream. If you don't pray - start to pray. If you do pray, do not give up. Read the Quran and try to attend Arabic classes and other such classes on Islamic sciences.
Do not allow yourself to be used as a pawn by the media or any LGBT organisation which may well be looking for its token Muslim.
